DT-specific information
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
we include here files specifically related to information about the DT
* Developer Toolbox: Where Are We Going?
revised notes from the DT Brainstorming Session At the Forum, this is
the janitor's best attempt at articulating our Projected TO DO list out
to December 31, 1997
* What We Did to Port the Developer Toolbox to IRIX 6.2,
and, What We Learned About In The Process, Chapter 1
This document is a record of everything we did to upgrade and then
re-compile the DT on IRIX 6.2 with the "bare-bones" o32 option. The
reason this is "Chapter 1" is that we have not yet succeeded in moving
to n32, by far and away the most challenging undertaking of anyone's
move to IRIX 6.2 from an IRIX 5 universe. Some of these details are
described in section 2, "The Challenge of n32". (ASCII text version)
* The janitors' Vision of Collaboration between you and us
We begin to more concretely articulate our desire and interest in
engaging as many of you as we can in a mutual form of colloboration to
extend the value of the DT for everyone.
* The Remaining COFF Files on the DT as of v6.1
There are nine COFF (Common Object File Format) binaries and object
files still included on the v6.1 toolbox. Here we list the 7 locations
where things aren't right with an IRIX 6 universe and attempt to
explain why.
* DT v6.1 Web-on-CD Roadmap
The v6.1 DT content spans 3 CDs. We list here what lives on which CD.
IF you want to perform a download you MUST understand what content
lives on which CD below so you can perform file and/or directory
downloads correctly.
* DT v6.1 Web-on-CD Pitfalls
There are problems you may encounter using the DT CD set. Here we
outline common ones and their workarounds which may prove of value to
you.
